Celebrating the announcement of our new co-owners

Yesterday was a big day and night for us as the ink dried on a new agreement, we could finally announce a deal that was many months in the making. Our owner, Anders Holch Povlsen of BESTSELLER UNITED has joined forces with Zalando to share ownership and enable the further growth of FashionTrade.com! It was, of course, the perfect occasion to throw a party on the rooftop of our headquarters in Amsterdam. With 150 international guests from the fashion and start-up industries, we certainly did just that – celebrate!

 

One Urban Jungle, too many G&Ts and… a big announcement!

With summer on its way, we decided to turn the rooftop of our headquarter into an Urban Jungle.

We kicked off the party with an informal Q&A with Pernille Geneser, FashionTrade CEO, David Schneider, co-CEO & co-founder of Zalando & Anders Holch Povlsen, owner of BESTSELLER UNITED. Our marketing manager, Kavita moderated the chat and had the chance to ask them all the burning questions. Their vision for the future of FashionTrade, the digitisation of the B2B fashion industry as a whole and just how the new co-owners will contribute to the team.

‘I foresee many more opportunities to connect brands and retailers in the future. From logistics to finance, FashionTrade can become a very extensive ecosystem. Of course, we will benefit from Zalando’s experience in developing a very successful platform’, said Anders.

 

From David, ‘It is Zalando’s role, as a tech company, to bring digitisation to all our clients.We see big potential in how FashionTrade can optimise these processes to connect brands and retailers in a simple way. That’s why we decided to invest together with BESTSELLER UNITED in this smart approach, which will enable the global B2B fashion market to leverage the potential that digitisation and technology has to offer.

 

Pernille added that ‘‘We receive a lot of positive feedback about FashionTrade. We now need to tell the story to more brands & retailers to extend our network and show that our platform can bring value to our customers.’
